Whitney's Girls' Varsity Basketball Wins the State Championship! Here is a snapshot from the LA Times:Whitney High in Cerritos, long regarded as one of the best academic schools in the nation, proved Saturday how brains and brawn can go together. The Wildcats’ historic girls’ basketball season culminated with them winning their first state title, defeating Half Moon Bay 48-40 in the Division IV final at Golden 1 Center. Whitney (28-9), which has a roster of all A students, never trailed after opening a 10-0 lead.
