Coach Alonso Ledezma is entering his first year at Whitney High School as the head coach of the girls volleyball program. He has been around high school volleyball for both girls and boys in the last six years as a frosh coach, JV coach and assistant varsity coach at the high school level of some of the top programs in Orange County. Coach Ledezma also coaches at Momentous Volleyball Club in the off-season.
The goal for Wildcat volleyball is to build a winning tradition for the volleyball program from the frosh/soph team to the varsity team for many years to come. It will take a lot of hard work and I trust in my coaching staff that they will build up the lower levels into great student athletes on and off the court and eventually have them be elite volleyball players for the varsity team in the coming years. My main goal for the varsity team is to bring a league title this year. At the JV and FS levels we should also develop skills that will enable us to be highly competitive. In order to do that we will have to work hard in practice and work towards our daily goals.
I definitely look forward to my first season here at Whitney H.S. and being part of the Wildcats family and to build a program into a contender for many seasons but starting with this upcoming season by challenging these girls everyday to be the best they can be. Go Wildcats!
